Dr. Chris Griffin was awarded the MDA 2009-2010 Humanitarian Award

This award is given to an MDA member for his or her clinical excellence and unselfish devotion to public service, community involvement, and the profession of dentistry.

Dr. Griffin practices dentistry in Ripley, MS since opening his practice in 1999. He is actively involved in his community as a bible study teacher, coaching little league baseball, basketball, sponsors a team for Relay for Life, sponsors Save-A-Life 5K runs, supports local high school Mathathons, and goes to local elementary schools to teach healthcare and volunteers for career day.

Dr. Griffin has shown outstanding devotion to the profession of dentistry and caring for others. He shares his skills on mission trips to Mexico where he spends days in the heat to relieve the pain and suffering of those with no access to care. Dr. Griffin volunteers his time for Dentistry with a Heart projects in Memphis, TN and in Dickson, TN. This also provides care for people with no dentist. Dr. Griffin donates a day of free dentistry to benefit the local children’s home, Pine Vale. He attends dental meetings at Corinth Dental Society and unselfishly donates time to helping dental students and new dentists by allowing them to observe his office. On behalf of the Mississippi Dental Association and fellow dentists we congratulate Dr. Chris Griffin as our MDA 2010 Humanitarian of the year.
